Tai Ji Quan has functions to maintain health and prolong life. Concentrating the mind on the movements of the style brings a state of mental calm and clarity, practice can relax body, relieve stress and benefit sleeping.
Until to now, various Tai Ji Quan styles have been developed including representative in the following: Yang, Chen, Wu, Sun styles that are called by the surname of persons who founded different styles. In 1956, the Chinese government made a simplified style based on the Yang style Tai Ji Quan that consists of 24 styles and it has spread all over the world.
